Show Week!

It's here... polish off that turkey and relax in front of one last football game, 'cuz when we come back on Monday, November 28, it's final rehearsal time for the fall play...

Production Week Rehearsal Schedule

Wednesday, Nov. 23 - Sunday, Nov. 27: No Official Rehearsals - PLEASE review line and blocking memorization, so we can come in fresh and studied for the show week.

Monday, Nov. 28th, 3 PM - ?: Full Runthrough. Since we were missing people for this past Monday's rehearsal, which was intended to be the "as long as it takes" one, we traded it with the 28th. We'll be running the whole show, and it may take considerably longer than the usual time, as we will be taking the last opportunity to start and stop the show for on-the-spot fixes.

Tuesday, Nov. 29th, 3 PM - 6 PM: Tech Rehearsal. Integration of all props, set, and tech. Last day to call for a line. No stops during the runthrough, and all cast and their baggage remain in the backstage; as if the real thing. Beginning tonight, all cast must stay for entire rehearsal, even if you "die" partway through the show.

Wednesday, Nov. 30th, 3 PM - 6 PM: Dress Rehearsal. Integration of any remaining tech elements and all costumes except rentals. No-stop runthrough, as if the real thing; notes afterward.

Thursday, Dec. 1st, 3 PM - ?: Final Dress Rehearsal. No-stop runthrough, as if the real thing; notes afterward. Any remaining imperfections dealt with, so actual runthrough may be held up, and further work may be necessary after full runthrough and notes; therefore, please understand that no solid ending time can be guaranteed.

Friday, Dec. 2nd PERFORMANCE - 6 PM Call, 6:15 PM Circle, 7:00 Performance. All cast and crew must be present by Call, all cast must be in full costume in the Theatre Room for Circle. Crew is encouraged to arrive early to help with any last minute needs; House Crew must arrive with ample time to have the house (concessionary, ushering, etc.) fully ready by 6:15 PM.

Saturday, Dec. 3rd PERFORMANCE- 6 PM Call, 6:15 PM Circle, 7:00 Performance.

Monday, Dec. 5th, 3 PM - ?: Set strike and cast party. Traditionally, all cast and crew are expected to come and assist in striking the set, costumes, and props, and managing several other important tasks. Work is followed by free food (pizza, wings, subs, soda, etc.).

Ten Little Indians cast announced

41 students auditioned this week for only eleven roles and two understudy spots, making this decision quite difficult. If you did not make the list, we would still really like you to be involved in the show, perhaps in a crew position - please simply attend the readthrough next week.

AUDITIONS ANNOUNCED

AUDITIONS
for the Corcoran Association of Student Theatre's
fall production of

Ten Little Indians
will take place on

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11th
and

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13th
SIGN UP ON THE DOOR OF C-110 TODAY!
No preparation is necessary. Auditioners will be asked to fill out a form, and then to read a character in a scene from the play. It is recommended that auditioners arrive early to allow time to fill out the form and look at the scene prior to the appointment time.

You may choose to come as early as you can and wait, since extra spots often open up allowing people to audition and be finished much earlier than their appointment. If all slots are full on a given day, you may also attend without an appointment, and if time becomes available, we may be able to slip you in. If you would like to audition for the play but absolutely cannot make it to any appointment slot in either day, see Mr. Hipius before Thursday, and we will try to arrange an alternative for you.

Online C.A.S.T. Merchandise Shop

I'm happy to announce that I've got the C.A.S.T. online store up, finally (I know, it took me a whole year of talking about it... but better late than never!). It has a few general items that people talked about in the past but never got around to having made, and a section just for "Tales From Behind the Curtain II." You can reach it at:

http://www.cafepress.com/hipius/868359

I've so far gotten four general and for specific items up. In the area specific to "Tales II" (click on the logo in the store), there are t-shirts ($17) and hoodies ($26), each in a choice of designs, including one bearing the poster logo Molly created to hang around the school, and the other bearing the fancy computer animated adaptation of it that we're using for the programs. In the general area, there's a black cap with the C.A.S.T. logo ($16), a golf shirt wit the C.A.S.T. logo ($18), and two versions of a "crew" shirt (I remembered this was something crew repeatedly mentioned they'd like in some past years but never got around to ordering) including a golf shirt ($18) and a long sleeved t-shirt ($20) each bearing the C.A.S.T. logo on the front and a large stamped "CREW" on the back (just like the ones used by Event Productions at SU and Syracuse Stage).

Please don't hesitate to give me feedback - if there's something you'd like me to put up there for sale, just lemmie know and I'll see what I can do!

"Tales II" Final Production Week Schedule

Here we go, about to enter the production week. If you're one of the people who planned on doing a monologue but whom we haven't seen yet, come see me right away - it's not too late, but it will be soon. Here's our schedule for next week:

Monday, October 3, 3 PM - 5 PM: Blocking convergance rehearsal. The order of pieces will be finalized and we will iron out the blocking for the show. We'll also have our pianist here to play along. Bring something to do (homework?) for when we're not working on your particular number(s).

Tuesday, October 4, 3 PM - 5 PM: Final music rehearsal. All pieces run through in order onstage with staging, this time paying special attention to the music, so that our accompaniments will know what tempos to take and where to make the breaks.

Wednesday, October 5, 3 PM - 5 PM: Tech rehearsal. We've got significant sound to integrate (thanks, Shawn!), and a new lighting technician to work with (thanks, Rutger!), as well as some special effects I've been working on. Another full runthrough, hopefully without any needs to stop any longer.

Thursday, October 6, 3 PM - whenever (5 PM, but later if needed): Final Dress Rehearsal, runthrough as if it were the performance itself, with all costumes, music, and moving parts operating.

Friday, October 7, 6 PM: CALL for the performance - entire cast and crew must be here by then! The performance itself will be at 7 PM.

Here we go... should be fun!

"Tales II" Date Finalized: October 7th

We've finalized the date for the performance showcase this fall: it will be Friday, October 7th, at 7:00 PM. I do know that the date isn't perfect for everyone and there are a couple of people that will be precluded due to sports and trips, but please understand that we did the best we could and moved the tentative date around several times trying to make it work before realizing that this was the closest we could come to pleasing everyone. Now let's get to work! :-)

Performance Showcase

Well, a new year is upon us! If you're interested in performing a musical number in our "Tales From Behind the Curtain II", or even a monologue or other small scene, please let me know right away. I'll have some formal auditions soon, but you need only arrange to perform it for Ms. Scheuerman and I at some point to have a shot (so don't worry if you can't make them!
